Poon Hill Trek

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest or explore Thamel, a vibrant area filled with trekking shops, cafés, and cultural sites. In the evening, we will have a trek briefing and prepare for the journey ahead.

Today, we explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, including the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, the massive Boudhanath Stupa, and the iconic Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Later, we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, filled with ancient temples and royal palaces. In the afternoon, we finalize trek preparations, ensuring all gear and permits are ready.

After breakfast, we take a scenic drive to Pokhara, Nepal’s adventure capital. The journey offers views of rivers, terraced fields, and local villages. Upon reaching Pokhara, you can relax by Phewa Lake or explore Lakeside.

After breakfast, we drive to Nayapul, the trek’s starting point. The trail follows the Modi Khola River, passing Birethanti village before gradually ascending through terraced fields to Tikhedhunga.

The day begins with a steep ascent up 3,000 stone steps to Ulleri (2,050m). The trail then winds through rhododendron and oak forests, reaching Ghorepani, a scenic Magar village with breathtaking views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

We wake up early for a sunrise hike to Poon Hill, offering panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu. After returning to Ghorepani, we continue trekking through lush forests to Tadapani (2630m)

A descent through dense forests leads us to Kimrong Khola, followed by an ascent to Chhomrong, a picturesque Gurung village with views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.

We descend to Chhomrong Khola, cross a bridge, and ascend through Sinuwa before entering a dense bamboo forest, reaching Bamboo village for an overnight stay.

The trail passes Dovan (2,600m) and Himalaya (2,920m) before reaching Deurali, where we experience changing landscapes with rocky cliffs and glacier moraines.

We ascend past Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), where glaciers and towering peaks surround us. The final stretch to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) brings us into the Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.

After a stunning sunrise at ABC, we retrace our steps through MBC, Deurali, and Himalaya, descending to Bamboo for the night.

We return to Chhomrong and descend to Jhinu Danda, where we relax in natural hot springs located 15 minutes from the village.

After a short trek to Siwai, we drive to Pokhara and then take a private vehicle back to Pokhara

Today we will drive back to Kathmandu. In the evening, we have a farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of the trek.
